1602
AD and Windows XP
Here's
the procedure how to install 1602 AD under Windows XP:
Create a
folder [ANNO1602] on your harddrive.
Copy all
files of the folder [ANNO1602] on the CDROM except [MUSIC8]
and [VIDEOSMK] into the new folder and remove the write
protection.
Double
click the supplied registry
file to enter the information into the Windows registry.
Search
the registry for ANNO1602 entry.
Change
the value (drive letter) of the CDROM_DIR key into the CDROM
drive to be used for playing.
Change
the value (drive letter) of the INSTALL_DIR key into the
harddrive with the [ANNO1602] folder.
Close the
registry, create a shortcut to 1602.EXE and start. The 1602 CD
must be put in.
And
here's the procedure how to install NINA under Windows XP:
Never try
to install directly because this would destroy the whole 1602
installation.
Copy all
files of the folder [ANNO1602] on the NINA CDROM into the
[ANNO1602] folder on the harddrive and remove the write
protection.
Execute
nos. 3 - 7 above.
Now install
also Patch 5 to make your installation compatible with the KE.
Btw, the KE
can be installed without these tricks.
All this
works also with virtual CD drives.
